DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER STORY (KILIMANJARO CHIEF GUIDE)
My name is Thomas Mlanzi, and I am the Kilimanjaro trekking chief guide as well as the Managing Director and founder of Kilinge Adventures.
I was born in Iringa, Tanzania’s southern part region, in villages where people live in poverty and the majority of them do not attend school. Actually, the idea for this company came after I graduated from university, where my beloved parents and other relatives played a significant role in supporting my education, but I was unable to repay them. Due to a lack of job opportunities, I felt compelled to do something that would benefit my family and contribute to society, as there were many young people in need of decent jobs to support their families.
I started as a porter, then went through tour guide certification and license training to become a professional tour guide. Kilinge Adventures was founded after I gained experience as a tour guide.

JOIN GROUP TOUR KILIMANJARO MARATHON 2024
Join group tour whereby Kilinge Adventures is inviting travelers from around the world to join group tour for the Kilimanjaro Marathon 2024, an international race that takes place at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Although the exact date for the 2024 Kili Marathon has not yet been confirmed by the organizers, it is expected to take place on February 25th 2024. Kilinge Adventures is providing information to assist travelers with early preparation plans. After the marathon, participants have the option to hike Mount Kilimanjaro in a private tour or join group tour, or go on a genuine Tanzania Safari.
KILIMANJARO ADVENTURE
This special package Kili Marathon 2023 and Kilimanjaro Climbing will give you opportunity to run the Kilimanjaro Race and Climb Mount Kilimanjaro 8 Days through Lemosho Route.
The Lemosho route is considered the most scenic trail on Kilimanjaro, granting panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. As one of the newer routes, Lemosho is a superb choice for your climb. It is our preferred route due to its ideal balance of low crowds, beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. Kilinge Adventures specializes in guiding on the Lemosho route. Most of our clients climb Kilimanjaro using this route and they consistently report that they loved it. Thus, Lemosho is highly recommended. The route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the west, beginning with a long drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. From there, the first two days are spent trekking through the rain forest to Shira Ridge. The Lemosho route crosses the entire Shira Plateau from west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike. Crowds are low until the route joins the Machame route near Lava Tower. Then the route traverses underneath Kilimanjaro's Southern Ice Field on a path known as the Southern Circuit before summiting from Barafu. Descent is made via the Mweka route. Kilinge Adventures offers Lemosho as an eight day group climb or as a seven to eight day private climb. The seven day variation combines days five and six, going from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp without staying at Karanga. A nine day variation that includes an overnight at Crater Camp is available as a private climb by special request.

As Manyara is well known for the tree climbing lions, the soda ash lake and its flamingos, Tarangire is widely famous for its high-density population of Elephants and Baobab Trees. THE GREAT SERENGETI MIGRATION
The journey for the key players in the Great Migration, the roughly 1.5 million wildebeest, starts in the south of the Serengeti, with the birth of half a million calves between January and March. A favourite season for many of the seasoned Serengeti guides: the air during these months is full of new life and action. Predators like lions and hyenas are constantly hunting for babies, and thousands and thousands of calves are born within a couple weeks of each other – a feast for the eyes of true wildlife enthusiasts.
When the drought comes in May, the herd moves north, to the Maasai Mara, chomping down the high green grass, quickly followed by the gazelles and zebras. The migration is not without risk: crossing rivers means facing about 3,000 crocodiles, patiently waiting for a kill. Not to mention the famous Serengeti lion population: by far the largest in Africa. Despite the abundance of hoofed meat in this area, life is not easy for these big cats in this unforgiving landscape. But seeing a group of lions collaborating to hunt down a wildebeest is an unforgettable sight.
Then, with the beginning of the short rains in late October, the migration makes its way back into the Serengeti. By December, the herds trek past Seronera – a small settlement in central Serengeti where the official Serengeti Visitors’ Centre is located – to return to their calving grounds again, and the circle is complete.
This migration, month by month, is shown on the map below – the moving red represents the main herds.
